Community

The Community forum is where players and creators talk about Card Forge: share games, suggest features, ask questions and report bugs. Open it from Community in the top navigation bar.

Anyone can read the forum without signing in. To post, reply or vote, sign in first.

Categories

Every thread belongs to one category. Pick it when you create the thread; it can't be changed afterwards.

  • General — anything Card Forge that doesn't fit the other categories.
  • Showcase — promote one of your games and get feedback on it.
  • Suggestions — ideas to improve the platform. Upvote the ones you like.
  • Questions — doubts about a feature or the direction of the platform.
  • Bugs — something broken. Say what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.

The tabs at the top of the list filter by category, and the Sort menu orders threads by Latest activity, Newest or Top (most upvotes). The filters are part of the page address, so you can bookmark or share a filtered view.

Starting a thread

  1. Click New thread.
  2. Choose a Category, then write a Title (5–150 characters) and your Post.
  3. Click Post thread.

Posts support Markdown: headings, lists, bold, links and code. Images appear as links rather than inline pictures, and links to other sites open in a new tab.

You can post up to 5 threads and 30 replies per hour.

Showcasing a game

A Showcase thread links to one of your games. When you choose the Showcase category, a Game menu lists your published, public games; pick one before posting. If you have none yet, publish a game first (see Publishing & Sharing).

The thread shows a card for the game, with its release status and a link to open it. If you later unpublish the game or make it private, the thread says The game linked here is no longer available. It reappears if you publish the game again. If you delete the game, the link is gone for good.

Replying, voting and answers

  • Replies — write in Your reply at the bottom of a thread and click Post reply.
  • Upvotes — click the arrow under a thread to upvote it, and click again to remove your vote. You can't vote on your own thread.
  • Accepted answer — on a Questions thread, the person who asked can click Mark as answer on the reply that solved it. The reply is labelled Accepted answer, and the thread shows Answered in the list. Unmark answer undoes it.

Statuses

Suggestions and Bugs threads carry a status, set by the Card Forge team. It shows as a coloured pill on the thread and in the list, and when you're on one of those two tabs you can filter by it.

SuggestionsBugsMeaning
OpenOpenNot looked at yet, or still under discussion.
PlannedConfirmedAccepted: the suggestion is planned, or the bug is reproduced.
—Awaiting verificationA fix is out. The reporter is asked to check whether it works for them and reply.

DeclinedDeclinedWon't be done, or not a bug.

Editing and deleting

Use Edit on your own thread to change its title or post, or on your own reply to change its text. Edited posts show (edited).

To delete your thread, click Delete on the thread page, or the trash button on its row in the list. What happens depends on whether anyone has replied:

  • No replies — the thread is deleted permanently.
  • With replies — the replies stay. The thread's title shows as [deleted], its post and your name are removed, and its upvotes are cleared. No one can reply to it any more. Once its last reply is deleted, the thread disappears completely.

Deleting a reply removes it permanently.

Locked and pinned threads

The Card Forge team can pin a thread to keep it at the top of the list, or lock it. A locked thread shows This thread is locked. in place of the reply box. You can still read it and vote on it.

Deleting your account

If you delete your account, your threads and replies stay on the forum, shown as Deleted user. Your upvotes are removed. To take a post down, delete it before you delete your account.
